Ladies night play group anyone????

Ok Ladies! As most of you, if not all of you know. . . .New Moon is coming to a theater near you on Nov. 20th! I know that a few of us have talked about this, and I'm not sure who all checks the play group blog, but I would LOVE, LOVE to get a big group of girls and go! I hope that everyone, even people who are not able to go to the play groups feel welcome! Nothing sounds more fun to me than good company, fun movie, diet coke and hot tamales! :)
So let's pick a night, get tickets, and got to THE MOVIES!!!!

Pizza and Priesthood

Okay, I know its last minute but that seems to be how I roll these days. I had so much fun last Preisthood Sesion when we made chocolate covered marshmallows and I would like to keep the fun tradition going. This time I thought it would be fun make pizzas and eat them with our husbands after Priesthood. I would love to provide the pizza dough, sauce, drinks, and cheese. If you all want to bring your favorite toppings that would be great. The weather will be nice so I will just set up the tables and chairs outside again and enjoy the company. Question what time is Priesthood? I am going to try and make it to Julies open house that night (which everyone is invited to so let me know if you need the information) so I hope it doesn’t conflict.

I talked with a friend today when I picked up Jayden and we talked about the weather and the park and it got me in the mood to take the kiddos! I haven't been able to attend Play Group the last 2 weeks(sorry about that) but, I thought it would be fun to take my kids and anyone else that would like to come to play at Friendship Park!

When: Thursday, Oct. 1st (Tomorrow)

What to bring: Your cute kids, sack lunch, anything else your kiddos might enjoy at the park!

Phx Zoo

I just found out The Phoenix Zoo is proud to announce FREE admission for all Fry’s V.I.P Club card members every Wednesday in September. You can get 2 free admissions per vip card.

I know we went to the zoo not too long ago, but would anyone be interested in going to the zoo this coming Wed? (Sept 16th) We would try to get there by 9am & meet at the front gate.

I also know that I will only need 1 free pass, so I will have an extra if someone needs one.

Zoo Outing Update

I haven't got many responses about going to the zoo, so I'm assuming people aren't needing the passes. For anyone who is still wanting to go, we will be meeting at the zoo at 9am. If you end up going and do need a pass, call Stacy on her cell (it's in the ward directory).

Phx Zoo

A few of us thought it would be fun to go to the Phx Zoo on Wed. while the weather is still nice. We would probably go around 9am. There are a few free passes if needed. If a lot of people want to use them, we can pool our money and share the passes. I looked on their site & kids 12 & under are free through Aug. Adults are $16. We want to get an idea of who wants to go as a group & who needs a free pass or discount. So, if you want to go let me know... Rachel 623-266-7942 or 623-377-1230.

I say we should go to the Camelback Ranch Park and enjoy the cooler weather while we can. Unless someone else has a more fun idea, I say we meet at the park at 10am.

Sorry for such a last minute post but I was thinking that it would be such a mess to clean up all our melted children off the playground sand. Really, it is going to be in the 100s at 12:00 today so I was hoping we could all get together at the church today at 12:00 with our lunches instead. Please get the word out and again sorry for the delay in posting.

Tuesdays at Harkins Theaters

We're on for Tuesdays at Harkins Theaters Summer Movie Fun.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, please read the previous post. It looks like Tuesdays works best for a handful of us, and I hope that everyone else who wants to join us will do so! Head over to the information desk just inside the theater sometime soon to buy your tickets... you'll get the tickets for all 10 movies all at once. I was previously wrong about the snacks, though. For an additional $4 each movie, you get popcorn, a candy and a drink. Last year there were 2 theaters showing the same movie and we always picked the less crowded one. That way the kids could move around a little more if they couldn't hold still through the whole movie. Can't wait!!!

Harkins Theaters Summer Movies

Harkins Theaters has released all of the the information regarding the Summer Movie Fun Program here.

For $7 per person, you can watch 10 movies this summer. For an additional $4 *during each movie*, you get popcorn, candy and a drink. You just need to pick what day during the week you want to attend the movies and you're set! The movies start at 9:45 in the morning and are a great way to get out of the house for a few hours without sweating to death.

If you want, we can all pick the same day to attend so that it's a little more fun. Please comment with what day during the week works best for you-- please post by this Sunday, Mother's Day. You'll have to go to the theater to buy your tickets, but at least we will all have tickets for the same day. Hope to see you there!!

Marshmallow Making Priesthood Session

While I was living in Louisiana we had a tradition of making donuts during the priesthood session of General Conference and I absolutely loved it. So now for the past 3 years I have made excuses of why I couldn’t host that event, I am now out of excuses and would love to start that again, with just a few changes like no donuts, there are just so many things I would rather make. I think this time I want to try to make chocolate covered marshmallows. I was planning on going to the Zoo on Friday if anyone would like to come.
I wanted to leave at 9:00a.m. I'm headed to Cafe Rio after for some lunch if you want to come. For those of you that don't know what Cafe Rio is, it's the best Americanized Mexican restaurant ever!!!!! They have some of the best salads I have ever tasted!
