Christmas Season

Just letting everyone know that we have postponed playgroup until after the holiday season, with all the fun and family, time time just seems to pass us by. However, I thought I would take just a minute to thank each and everyone of you for the time and friendship that you have shown me and each other. The kids and I truly enjoy the time we get to spend with you all. Please invite others to share in our joy as we want all to participate. Thanks again and Merry Christmas, what a blessing for us to understand the real reason for the Christmas Season!!!!

Another Park Play Day

We are going to do a repeat of last week Kimberly Park tomorrow at 9:30. It may a bit chilly so bring a jacket:)

Park Day

We will be meeting at Kimberly Park in the Garden Lakes housing development at 10:00 tomorrow. It is located on the corner of Lakeshore Dr & Garden Lakes Pkwy in Avondale. It's just down the street (about 1/2 mile east) from the church building. It is a lovely little park with lots of room for the kiddos to play and have fun. Please come and spread the word. Its almost here...

Yes, what we have all been waiting for is finally here HALLOWEEN!!! Lets get together and have a spooky time at the Camelback Ranch Park at 9:30am. Can't wait to have a screamin' fun time with you all!!!

Play "dates"...

Due to the weather we are going to postpone the Zoo trip till Friday. Its going to be a beautiful day to walk around! Please let us know if you are wanting to come. We will meet at the zoo at 9am. Again we have lots of free tickets to share so no one should have to pay or it will be very small amount when divided up.

Tomorrow we will be going to Rachel Hatch's house to have some fun at 9:30 am, see you soon!!!

Tomorrow is LIBRARY DAY...

The Civic Center Library offers a kids story time at 10:30 am. It last for about 45mins with a story and a craft. It should be lots of fun!!!

I think we will postpone the park day due to the excessive heat that we are all so ready to get rid of. Because we preplanned our playgroups weather is always something we have to work around:) Tomorrow we will just meet at the church (Garden Lakes Building) for a little play time in the nursery room @ 9:30.

Okay, its time again to plan the next two months and I am getting stuck on activities, HELP!!! I know some of you have volunteered your homes if there is a Wed in the next month or two let me know. Also, we will be making up the Zoo trip but I think you all will appreciate us waiting until it cools off. If any of you have some fun activities up your sleeves let me know. I will try to get the next few months planed by next week. THANKS for all the fun times we share with each other:)

Zoo Postponed

It is supposed to shower tomorrow so we will be postponing our trip to the zoo. Everyone is welcome to come play at the Overton home at 9:30 instead, rain or shine. We hope to see you all there!

ZOO

This weeks playgroup is going to be at the Phoenix Zoo. I know it is probably going to be a little warm but remember they have 2 splash pads for your kids to cool off at (bring a swimsuit and towel). To beat some of the Arizona heat we are going to meet early at 9:00am on the bridge.

Now about the admission fee...

between Bethany and myself we have 5 extra adult admission and 3 extra 3 and older children's admissions (under is free). Last time we went no one had to pay a dime. Come One Come All

This weeks playgroup will be held at the Lensch Home (10945 W. College Dr. Phx) at 9:45am. Kids come in your bathing suit for some water fun, bubbles, and refreshing Popsicles. We are looking forward to cooling down with you!!!

Anthem Here We Come

I am so excited about this one... mother goose, and SHOPPING what could be better. We should all leave about 9:15 -9:20-ish to get there on time. Mother Goose abides just down from the "Children's Place." I think after we are going to play at the park and eat lunch or SHOP!!! Just Too Hot to Play Outside

Because of the incredibly warm days that we are now entrenched in I thought that we could use some air conditioning. Summer Vacations are now upon us and so we have reluctantly decided to cancel playgroup for the next two weeks. We will resume July 14th!!! Everyone have safe and enjoyable vacations and to those sticking around, keep cool and we will all meet up again soon.

Play Group Time Again

We are in the thick of this summer heat so lets try to cool down at the splash park again! Lets do Westgate this week, it seems to keep the kids contained a little bit better. I was thinking that 10am might be less crowded, if that's even possible. I will be there a little early to try to get some seats, let me know if you think you may attend. LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!!! Summer Movies

I was wondering if any one was interested in buying tickets for Harkins Summer Movies? I was going to get some, but thought I would see if a bunch of people want to get tickets for the same day. We did this last year and a I enjoyed it. If so, we should pick out a day. Last year we went on Tuesdays. Let me know what you think.

Splash Pad

This week we are going to meet up at the Westgate Splash Pad for some pre-summer fun! If you dont want to get your kids clothes wet have them come in the swim attire. We will meet at 10:30 and feel free to bring your kids a snack or lunch. See you Wednesday:)

Lunch and Park

Playgroup will be at the Camelback Ranch park at 10:30 am. Bring a lunch if you want to feed the kids while you are there. Also, its supposed to be a little chilly so bring a jacket (can you believe I am saying that at the end of April:) The Weather Chanel says it will be 63 degrees at that time. See you all soon!!!

Playgroup Update

Thanks Jolisa for making such YUMMY cookies for us to decorate, the kids loved it!
Our trip to Stuffingtion Bear Factory was a hit. The kids thought it was great and they were so well behaved while going threw the tour.

Its been fun with all the new activities, please suggestions would be great however we do have quite a few things we have on the waiting list already. Remember to invite all your friends, the more the merrier!!!!

Bears Here, Bears There, Bears Everywhere

Tomorrow is our Stuffington Bear Factory Tour. I had thought about changing it to another week due to the longer drive but, I am excited to see what its all about so tomorrow it is.

FREE Daily Drop-In Tour: Free at 1:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. No reservation necessary. Tour takes about 15-20 minutes. You can purchase a bear to stuff and clothe before or after the tour if you want.

Stuffington Bear Factory offers private tours for groups of any size. Our tours are a great way to learn about what goes into making America's most lovable companion - the teddy bear. It also is a great way to learn about the manufacturing process and the history of the teddy bear. These tours are a favorite with companies, team building events, charity donation events, private groups, clubs, large families, tourists and sightseers.

Cabela's

I was hoping that it would be okay if we changed things last minute and go to Cabela's (9380 W Glendale Ave about 5 mins from everyone) tomorrow at 10:00 am. There is also a cafeteria for any that want to buy or bring the kids something. For those that haven't been before here is the link

It's coming!!!

Update

The first week back we were able to have a long lost friend visit playgroup... Jenny Nielson. It was nice to see her and the girls. So come have fun with us you never know whats going to happen;)

Last week we had a good time at Cerreta's but a few of you missed it so we will be planning another trip there in May. I hope you all can come and indulge in the yummy candy and chocolate then. NEVER TOO MUCH CANDY!!!!

As for next week we have had a requests for other parks but because its Spring Break and several people will be gone I thought we could just stick with Camelback Ranch Park. I will be out of town (YEAH!!!) so I wont be there for it but if you all want to meet there at 10:30 and bring a lunch.

We are working on the Easter Egg hunt and where it will be so stay tuned for that.

Cerreta Candy Company Tour

Yeah!!!! Tomorrow is the Chocolate Factory Tour. So there is to be no misunderstanding we are not going to be visiting Willy Wonka, there will be no huge river of chocolate, or dancing Umpa Lumpas. However, there will be a thirty min tour which consists of standing behind a wall and looking at interesting machines. So not to discourage you from coming they do handout a free candy with the tour. The kids and I have gone a few times and it is a nice change of pace, they love it. So excited to see you all tomorrow!!!

March 3rd Playgroup

For now I thought we could just meet at the Camelback Ranch Park for tomorrows outing at 10:30am.
I am however in search of the “Perfect Park” one with no sand, no high drops without railing, no huge river rock for throwing, you know the kind padded by lilies and rose that our children couldn’t possibly find anything to hurt them or others. I am a realist though and so I do know that’s out of the questions but if you want to try out another Park please let me know. We can be on the "Quest To Find The Perfect Park” together.

It's On

Are you kidding me the last post was November 15th! We can do better than that, you know with all the extra time we all have;)

I would like to try and get this playgroup thing up and rolling again with a move organized approach (this is just a trial run so feel free to give constructive criticisms if its not working for you and your little one/s.) I thought that we could try to plan out a month or two in advance and then we could throw in a few interesting adventures that we could all plan on?!!!

Here is the deal, if you can’t afford and activity or it’s just not up your ally than NO problem no one is obligated to attend, we just want you to have FUN and let the kiddos socialize. I would love some help with ideas and activities please let me know and if you would like to do something at your place.
